FAQ
What do I do when I’m involved in an auto accident?

Get the name of the person driving the other vehicle(s) involved along with their phone number and insurance information. Also try to obtain any witness’ name and number. Note the location, time, and date. If you have a camera, take pictures.

Contact the insurance company responsible and let them know where the vehicle is located or where it is being towed to and ask for a claim number. The insurance company may elect to send an adjustor out to look at the vehicle, or have the shop of your choice inspect the vehicle.

Contact the repair facility of your choice and drive it in or make arrangements to have it towed (if non-drivable) to the shop. Give the shop the claim number. The shop will then work out all the details with the insurance company at fault and begin the claims process.

Do I need 3 estimates?

No, you are free to get as many estimates as you desire, but it is not necessary. You just need to choose the shop of your choice and notify the insurance company.

Do I need an appointment?

No, we have two estimators and one is always available to write an estimate. This enables our customers to come in at their own convenience.

What is a DRP (Direct Repair Provider) shop?

Most major insurance companies provide their customers with a list of DRP’s. The DRP must meet certain requirements set up by the insurance company, such as technical training and up-to-date equipment. Crossroads Collision is a DRP for most major insurance companies in this area.

Am I required to go to the facility that my insurance company recommends?

Your insurance company cannot require you to go to a particular repair facility. You have the right to choose your repair shop. However, most DRP’s have been set up by the insurance company because of the training the shop personnel have had and the equipment available at the repair facility. Certain requirements must be met by the repair facility to be accepted on a DRP program.

What should I look for when choosing a repair facility?

Look for referrals from satisfied customers or insurance companies. Also check for evidence of employee training and certification through accredited industry standards, such as I-CAR, ASE, and Akzo Nobel. A shop guaranty should also be included with the completion of the repair. Word of mouth has been our biggest seller in customers choosing Crossroads Collision as a preferred collision repair facility.

Are you open on Saturday?

We are open Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

How do I schedule a rental car and who pays for it?

Most insurance companies have a rental provider set up. We can assist you in contacting that provider and setting up the rental for the time period that the vehicle is at the shop.

Do you have a key drop?

Yes, we have a key drop at the front of the building in the event you need to drop your vehicle off after hours.

Who is responsible for the guarantee of workmanship and safety of my vehicle repairs?

The repair facility should offer a warranty on work performed. Crossroads Collision, Inc. offers a Limited Life-time warranty for as long as you own the vehicle.

Who is responsible for payment to the repair facility?

The owner of the vehicle is responsible for full payment on the repairs. If it involves an insurance claim, you are responsible for any deductible and the insurance company will pay for the rest of the damage. If it is not an insurance claim, payment must be made in full before the vehicle is released. We accept personal checks, cash, Visa or MasterCard.

When is my deductible due and how do I know how much it is?

The deductible is due to the repair facility when the repairs are completed. This is the amount you set up with your insurance agent when you took out the insurance policy on the vehicle.

Will the shop notify me when the repairs are complete on my vehicle?

Yes, as soon as the repairs are complete the shop will notify you that your vehicle is ready for pick-up.

After I pick up my vehicle, do I need to take any precautions with the new paint finish?

Our paint booth bakes the paint finish. Once the vehicle is assembled, we wash the vehicle and vacuum the interior. It is fine to wash the vehicle but do not use commercial car washes with brushes. We recommend that you do not wax the vehicle for approximately 3 months. This allows the paint to set up completely.
